Hotel & Travel

Seismic Shift 2018 (November 7-9) will be hosted at the Pendry San Diego Hotel (550 J Street, San Diego, CA 92101) located downtown in the heart of the Historic Gaslamp Quarter, surrounding by dozens of local eateries, vibrant nightlife, close to beaches, shopping, and more.

Unfortunately, our discounted hotel room rate is sold out. However, we have secured an overflow block of discounted rooms at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina, located 3.5 miles from the Pendry at 1380 Harbor Island Dr.  The discounted rate is $209USD per night, plus taxes and includes a complimentary airport shuttle provided by the Sheraton.  Please use our dedicated booking link to reserve your room.  Please note, reservations must be made through the dedicated booking site to obtain the conference discount.  The group rate will be available until October 29.  

Attendees are advised to arrive anytime on Tuesday, November 6th and depart after 2:00p.m. on Friday, November 9th, 2018. Please email for any booking questions.

Parking is available at the Pendry San Diego for an additional charge.

There is a charge for valet parking. The current overnight valet rate is $49.00 per vehicle, per evening

Conveniently located just ten minutes from downtown San Diego and serviced by 22 major and commuter airlines including non-stop flights from Mexico, Canada, Japan and the UK, San Diego International Airport is managed by the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority and receives more than 16 million passengers a year.

Flying into San Diego, passengers get a bird’s eye view of Balboa Park, downtown and the San Diego Bay on their descent to San Diego International Airport, aka Lindbergh Field. The airport terminals are easy to navigate and offer gourmet food and drink from local restaurants.

taxi or shuttle is a quick and easy way to get to your destination and they can be found at the island outposts outside of each terminal. The free Airport Shuttles runs between the Sycuan Green Line Middletown Trolley Station and the airport every 10 to 15 minutes. For car rentals, the airport is served by all major car rental agencies. Courtesy phones are located near the baggage claim areas of Terminals 1 and 2.

Airport parking is located outside of all three airport terminals, with valet parking service at Terminals 1 and 2. To save time when you leave, take your parking ticket with you and pre-pay at automated express parking pay stations. With these pre-paid tickets, you can then use the express pay exit lane when leaving the terminal. Otherwise, there are staffed payment booths at the exit gates of each parking lot where you can pay.


San Diego shuttle services are a convenient way to navigate the city and are ideal for airport pick-ups and drop-offs, as well as going to and from the convention center and cruise ship terminal. There are also local shuttle companies that offer sightseeing tours, daily excursions, and transportation for weddings and private parties.

Shuttle service from the airport is available at the transportation plazas across from the San Diego Airport Terminals 1 and 2, and curbside from the Commuter Terminal.


Taxicab stands are located at the airport, most hotels, attractions and shopping centers. Base fare and rates are displayed on the meter and include a flag drop charge plus a per-mile and/or a per-hour charge. If you are traveling from the airport, they will also add $1.50 to your final total. Pedicabs and horse-drawn carriages are popular ways to travel along downtown’s waterfront and in the Gaslamp Quarter.

With year-round temperatures averaging 72°F, San Diego is the perfect place to be.

The average high temperature for San Diego in October is 75°F and the average low is 60°F. The average high temperature in November is 70°F and the average low is 54°F. We recommend bringing a light coat or sweater for the evening hours and conference areas.


Registration fees cover the cost of the ticket to access Seismic Shift 2018 content and networking sessions at the Pendry Hotel San Diego as well as social event at the Quartyard. All air transportation and hotel accommodations are the responsibility of the attendee.

Our cancellation and refund policy is as follows:

31 – 100 days prior to event: 100% refund
16 – 30 days prior to event: 50% refund
0 – 15 days prior to event: 0% refund

Please submit all cancellation requests via email.

Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted methods of payment for Seismic Shift 2018 registration fees.  Invoicing is allowed, however payment must be received in full by Friday, November 2nd.

Registrations are transferable.  The last day to transfer is Wednesday, October 31st. Please email the Shift event team if you’d like to transfer your registration to another colleague or if you have any questions.

Additional Information

Business casual attire is appropriate.  Be sure to bring a light coat or sweater for evening hours and conference areas.

The following daily meals are Included in your conference fee: Grab-n-Go Breakfast Café, morning and afternoon pick-me-up breaks, and group lunches.  An evening special event will be hosted on Thursday, November 8th
